The Windsurfer Rig

sail bag The Sail
Made from a combination of Monofilm, Dacron and Mylar. Sails with full length battens are more stable and powerful, and won't lose their shape unlike unbattened sails. The Battens rotate around the mast on a 'camber inducer' allowing the sail to lie on the leeward side of the mast and thus be more aerodynamic and efficient.

The Mast

Standard length masts (460-465cm) are made from glassfibre or a composite glassfibre and carbon mixture. They're generally in two parts for convenient transportation and storage.

The Boom

Two wishbone shaped, aluminium tubes with a hardwearing sponge coating. The moulded plastic front end clamps to the mast (boom cut out area), while the other end is attached to the clew (outhaul). It's length is adjustable for all sail sizes.

The Mast Foot

In two parts. The top part slots onto the mast and includes the downhaul pulley. The bottom part is a universal joint offering unique steering manoeverability. It connects to the boards mast track (or deck plate) and clips to the top part (mast).

uphaul The Uphaul
Short piece of knotted rope with a loop at each end (one of which is shock cord - elasticated), this is used to pull the sail from the water, while in a standing position on the board.
