Rigging a Sail

You should have a: sail, mast, boom, mastfoot, uphaul rope and an `easi-rigg'.

6 easy steps to rig a sail

sail
  1. unroll the sail and slide the mast into the luff tube until it connects into the mast head.

    mastfoot

  2. slot in the mastfoot and thread the line through the sail cringle and pulley system.

    assembly

  3. give it some max welly, pushing with your foot until (ideally) the tack meets the mastfoot pulley.

    boom

  4. clamp the boom to the mast (sail cut-out area) at chest/shoulder height.

    outhaul

  5. Thread the outhaul line on the boom into the sail cringle (loop-loop-go system shown). Pull clew in tight. Boom length may require adjustment.

    battens

  6. Tighten up the battens to eliminate any wrinkles. Tie on your uphaul rope.

A well rigged sail is worth the extra time spent, believe me. All that's left to do now is to fit the the mastfoot to the board's deckplate, and carry it to the water.

That's it, you're rigged!
